It's been awhile since I've updated. Not just here, but any where and any thing beyond a quick thought on blue sky. I had a genetic test last fall that revealed a high cancer risk and had a subsequent surgery to reduce said risk so I've been pretty down for the count. But, now I am starting to feel back to normal a bit. Aside from the usual level of crap that comes with being chronically ill anyway.
So, aside from that - I haven't much worked on any projects or anything. I've honestly mostly been reading. I set my reading goal as a hundred books (and/or) fifty-thousand pages a year and usually slip in under the wire at the end of December every year by slamming through a few novellas before New Years. This year I hit a hundred books before the end of June and fifty-thousand pages during the first week of July. I'm not actually sure what I am at now, because I still haven't logged all my reading for August and September yet. Oops!
I am going to try to set down the books a bit for the fall and get to building my portfolio back up to get some comics or illustration work. It's been a few years since I've really worked in the field and I think it's time to get back on the horse. I explored doing other work and nothing has been fulfilling in the same way. I can keep padding out my income with other forms of freelancing.
Anyway, that's about it.
